FAITH QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK
Adults - How and when were you able to trust in God recently?
Youth - Is trust in God a part of your approach to life's challenges?
Children - Can you describe a time when you trusted God to take care of you?
ST. PATRICK-ST. MICHAEL READS
For Lenten reading, the faith formation office is offering the recently published book THERE'S AN ADULT IN MY SOUP by Jason and Kim Kotecki (September 2009).  At 192 pages, with 50 illustrations and a 5 star review, the book offers a reminder to those over 18 to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. If you're trying to eliminate, "I'm so busy" from your speech, then this is the book to read, offering perspective on balance in our lives, stress management, and becoming more optimistic people -- the folks God has created us to be. For sale at the discounted price of $12, proceeds will be used to bring the Kotecki's here for a special presentation on Sunday, May 23.  Books are available for purchase after masses at St. Patrick's and  from the Faith Formation Office.  We'll provide a couple of opportunities during Lent to discuss the book.

| Our first ever parish Winter Day C.A.M.P. was held Wednesday, December 30 with over 20 children Pk-Grade 8 in attendance.  We began the day with prayer, praising God for His great love found in creation, in each other, and in the gift of Jesus.  Whether acting out a skit, viewing a movie or searching for clues to answer the question, "Who Am I?" the children had the opportunity to dig into Scriptures and learn about some of the great men and women of the Old Testament   They put their head knowledge to the test in a couple of rounds of Bible J-I-N-G-O while using their engineering skills and cooperative spirit to build Noah's Ark.  We warmed up the parish center with a rousing game of "Prophecies of the Messiah" as children had the opportunity to make new friends, laugh and learn together.   What a terrific way to spend a cold, wintry afternoon!   Many thanks to all those families who stepped up and reached out to "try something new!" "Year of the Priest" |
Pope Benedict XVI has declared a Year for Priests beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009. The year will conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with the Holy Father on June 19, 2010.
To help assist us in praying for our priests the USCCB has provided us with a prayer for priests as well as a special Rosary devotion for priests. Please feel free to download and use these resources with your family.
